2021 High School Scholarships

Scope:  Seniors and parents who have registered for the DWP High School Program - and meets the scholarship criteria may be considered for a DWP scholarship.

Pillars of Eligibility:  STEM, Healthcare, Business and Manufacturing.  In 2021, DWP will introduce the ‘Helping Hands’ Scholarship to provide opportunities for underserved students. 

 

Definition of Underserved: Consideration will be given to any high school senior that meets the ‘Pillars of Eligibility’:  a) low income or classified as living in poverty, b) first generation to go to college, c) experienced a medical barrier, d) came through the Foster Care System.

 

High School Academic Requirement: Students pursuing a 4-Yr. Bachelor Degree, needs a GPA 3.0 or higher.  2-Yr. Associate Degree or Community College Certificate, needs a GPA 2.5 or higher.

Career Tech Centers: Graduating seniors that wish to be employed by a manufacturer and also attend CTC evening classes to earn a Certificate may be considered for a DWP scholarship.

Submission of Scholarship Applications:  Students do not directly apply for scholarships.  All applications must be processed to DWP by the high school principal or student counselor. 

School leaders will identify six seniors that fit the Pillars of Eligibility requirement and submit the students’ scholarship applications.  The window for applications is February 1-26, 2021. 

Review of Scholarship Applications:  All applications will be evaluated by the DWP Scholarship Review Committee for final award determination.  Scholarship winners will be announced by mid-April 2021.

 

Renewable Scholarships: All 2021 scholarship winners, pursuing an Associate or Bachelor degree, and who maintain their academic attainment, are eligible to apply for a 2022 Renewable Scholarship.
